Each showcase is an evening of individual female songwriters, performing original material, in the tradition of a Nashville songwriter night. The performers are a core group of women song writers with featured guest appearances and visiting acts from all over the world.

The show originated in Nashville, Tennessee USA in 1996 and was founded by Cindy Kalmenson. Now it is a highly successful all women songwriter show and regularly packs out it's Nashville venues and has a huge loyal following.

After seven years in Music City, USA, the show was brought to the UK and is spearheaded by it’s London host, singer/songwriter Jae Avery. The London division of “Girls With Guitars” was launched on 8th July 2003 and is now a regular event, with shows at both the Porter House in Covent Garden and the Porter house in Barnes every month.

Each show includes an open-mic slot to give other female songwriters a chance to showcase a song (and to potentially audition to join the cast of “Girls With Guitars”!) Men are always welcome on stage in a support capacity!

Occasionally, visiting members of the Nashville “Girls With Guitars” cast and other touring acts from the US will be featured writers/performers on stage at the London “Girls With Guitars” shows.

So come along to hear some fresh inspiring original live songs, acoustically performed by some of London's finest female singer/songwriters, witness some fabulous women players, and listen to some beautiful voices. There’s no other show quite like it, ….well, except for the one in Nashville of course!
